About Us
Mícheál Halpin founded Low Chaser Golf in 2023. Mícheál is a native of Ballybunion, in the South-West of Ireland. He is fortunate enough to grew up in a golfing family, and became a member of Ballybunion Golf Club as a junior. Through the years he spent most summers either playing or caddying.
After a few years away from the game, he set up Low Chaser Golf to address some gaps he found in the market. Being fan of quality products at a decent price, he had acquired some new-to-him second hand clubs.
As with most second-hand clubs, they were perfect, except he saw they needed new grips. Just to add a splash of (subtle) colour, he went looking at various options, but quickly found there were no options that he found interesting. So Low Chaser was born, with a view to bring to market grips and headcovers that have a timeless style.
Our Values
As an engineer by training, Mícheál has a strong appreciation for good design. And with that he appreciates that things don't need to be complicated to be quality.
But he also believes that while the latest product releases may be marginally better than previous versions, for the vast majority of players that does not equate to value-for-money. As a result he's a fan of using slightly older clubs, that can often be found at a fraction of the price. And with the addition of new grips, they will perform as good as when they were now.
